In depth

Verdict

Maromito can make the most of the weight that he receives from Lake Chini, with Fern House and Rare Breed seen as other leading contenders. Maromito hit winning form at Musselburgh in May, but has taken time to come to himself again. However, he caught the eye when a close third to Strensall on a return visit to the Scottish track three weeks ago, and although not certain to relish give underfoot, is taken to stop the follow-up bid of Lake Chini. The latter lines up on the back of an Ayr claiming success over Racoon who admittedly has made the form look good, but it is still a tall order to give weight away to the selection. Fern House cam fast and late to open his account at Catterick, and there should be more in the locker, so he has to be considered, while Rare Breed showed signs of a return to form at Bath recently and is added to the list. Our pin comes down on Maromito.
