      Verdict

Overturn made all to land this last year and returned to the Flat to land the Chester Cup last month. As a result he's 13lb higher than a year ago and this is very much tougher. Harlestone Times looks a typical John Dunlop improver though he's never been beyond 1m4f so the trip is an unknown but it won't bother the ex-French Investissement, who battled on strongly to score over 1m6f at Goodwood. Montaff appeared to find Chester's turns and longer trip beyond him but has done much better since and his second to Blue Bajan in the Group 2 Henry II Stakes would give him an outstanding chance. The key to this could be the handicap won by Activate at Haydock a month ago as the winner is undoubtedly improving and won with a little in hand. However, DEAUVILLE FLYER was an unlucky loser that day and Tim Easterby's charge, who started a well backed favourite for this last year, looks to have been aimed at gaining compensation and can do so despite being 4lb higher.
