Verdict

Seldom Inn reverted back to fences with a facile victory at Kelso but was then beaten in a two-horse race at Carlisle where he didn't jump as well. Gully's Edge, a dual winner over timber, looks a bit high in the weights after a moderate chasing debut though he'll no doubt improve for the experience. Sevenballs Of Fire was well behind the latter over hurdles at Ayr in April and is making his chasing debut as is Bigirononhiship, a winning point-to-pointer who has the scope for chasing. The four-year-old CALETT MAD (NAP) has an excellent pedigree for chasing so the fact that he was able to finish a close third in a Listed handicap hurdle at Auteuil speaks volumes. He could be a blot on this handicap and gets the vote. Dan Emmett only won once over timber but finished runner-up in a tough Chepstow handicap over this trip and is another likely to do better over fences.
