      Verdict

Trafalgar Bay is a tentative choice in this open handicap, where Black Charmer and Presumptive are also respected. The last named has crept up the ratings this season and will need to be at his best today. However, he acts well with cut in the ground and is respected as a danger. Black Charmer was behind the selection when they met in the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Ascot and has a bit to find on a literal reading of that form. However, this smaller field may help and he cannot be ruled out. At longer odds Imperial Echo has claims on the best of his efforts and is worth noting in the betting. He is potentially well treated just now, so is worth bearing in mind for future reference. However, the consistent Trafalgar Bay has plenty in his favour regarding the trip, ground and draw; so is given another chance to get back to winning ways.
