In depth

Verdict

Peter Chapple-Hyam has a fair chance of landing division one and MARCEL should attract support here after showing very good speed at Ascot last month. He gets the vote on the strength of that though Luath was very green at Hamilton and will have benefited enormously from the experience. Kevin Ryan has a good record in the event and Heir To A Throne will be much better for his run at Beverley where he never really got going after a poor start. Ambriel has a speedy pedigree and probably wasn't suited by soft ground at Ayr and St Andrews is by Rip Van Winkle out of a Group 3 winner over a mile so he should be suited by the trip on his debut.
