Verdict

Wigmore Hall was hugely impressive over course and distance but may be worth taking on with RASHAAD who has a stone to find on the figures whilst Anhar appeals most of the two Godolphin runners. Wigmore Hall made light of topweight in a competitive course and distance handicap where there appeared to be strong words for a couple of his opponents. That performance has forced connections hands as their gelding was handed a 13lb rise but he has all the right entries and is clearly talented. Anhar should enjoy the quick conditions and looked to be undone only by his inexperience at Nottingham and it will be interesting to see what level of market confidence there is behind him and stablemate Namecheck given that the market spoke confidently about Chabal on his return at Sandown. Gardening Leave will need to leave the form of his return behind if he's to trouble the principals and a chance is taken on the lowest rated and least experienced runner in the field. It's easy enough to pick holes in the form of Rashaad's maiden win but it's significant that connections have eschewed the handicap route in favour of this task and he's expected to run a big race here before taking higher rank further down the line.
