In depth

Verdict

A tough finale for punters and the tentative vote goes to the unexposed Parisian Dream ahead of Trepa, Aggravation and Optimus. The selection won well at Salisbury last time out on his third start and shaped as if this step up in trip would be right up his alley. He needs this quicker ground and is fancied to defy this mark of 76 on his handicap debut. Sonny Parkin won this race last year off a 3lb lower mark so warrants respect along with stablemate Old Romney. Optimus has won off this mark in the past and must be feared having proven that he is in good form with a claiming win last time out. Aggravation is now 3lbs above his highest winning mark having won two of his last three, whilst at a price Silent Applause could go well with a first-time visor installed. All in all this looks a tricky end to the racing, and just the tentative vote goes to Parisian Dream.
