Verdict

Smoothtalkinrascal didn't do a lot wrong on his debut at Newbury and, as the only one with experience in this, must go on the short-list as Brian Meehan's juveniles invariably improve for a run. Cuisine, a Holy Roman Emperor colt, is from a good family and Richard Hannon's Mysterial cost 150,000gns and is also well related. GOLD HUNTER is Godolphin's first two-year-old runner of the season and, as a half-brother to mud-lover Zafisio, should handle the prevailing ground better than most. He can start paying back some of his 220,000gns price tag with victory here. Kimberella and Shearian are also worth noting for future reference.
