In depth

Verdict

Mutawajid can put his experience to good use here to beat the newcomer Jamieson Gold and the Irish raider Amadeus Mozart. Richard Hannon's colt has come up against a couple of tartars in his two races to date and can make it third time lucky this afternoon. He finished runner up to Layazaal on his debut, with a subsequent winner back in third. Since then he chased home the Godolphin newcomer Dickensian and that form looks solid as the front three were well clear of the rest. As the Hannon juveniles tend to improve with racing there could be more to come and he looks the best option here. Amadeus Mozart is steadily getting the hang of things and he ran with credit at Gowran last time when third to Duff. However we do like the look of the newcomer Jamieson Gold, a son of Desert Style who cost 100 thousand Euros as a yearling. He hails from a yard with a good line to the two-year-old form and should be monitored closely in the betting. The same applies to Gerard Butler's Club Captain, but for the winner it has to be Mutawajid.
