A wide open affair with a host of progressive three-year-olds in action but Day Fort is the tentative choice while Blaise Castle, Blythe Knight and Tiber are amongst the chief dangers. Marcus Tregoning's lightly raced colt followed a Bath maiden success with a stylish victory at Sandown, displaying a smart turn of acceleration to seal the issue in a matter of strides. The son of Tagula has been raised 7lb since but should prove capable of better, particularly over this longer trip, and is expected to swoop late under Frankie Dettori. Blaise Castle boasts some useful juvenile form and will appreciate the step in to handicap company after being far from disgraced on her belated return in the Coronation Stakes while Blythe Knight holds Risk Taker on last month's Royal Ascot form and may be best at this shorter trip so looks short list material. Zabaglione ran with credit in the highly competitive Britannia Handicap and is another interesting contender while Tiber has been knocking on the door in similar company this term and should go well once again but the percentage call is for Day Fort to complete the hat-trick.
