YA LATIF took a while to warm to her task at Newbury but ran on very nicely when the race was all over and will know much more this time so is handed the verdict. Just behind her that day was Star Of Spring, who was outpaced in the middle of the race but ran on steadily near the finish. Lashkaal was also very green on her debut here in May but also picked up in the closing stages and she should be in the firing line. Paul Hanagan picks her over Nufooth, who he rode at Doncaster where she missed the break. The latter's yard also run Shagah under Frankie Dettori, who was on board when she made her debut at Kempton where she will have learnt plenty. Richard Fahey wouldn't be running the Teofilo filly Pamushana on her debut in such a hot maiden unless thought capable of a big effort while Rastanora is another newcomer to note along with the superbly bred Winters Moon, a half-sister to two Group 1 winners.
