    Verdict

A chance is taken with Exhibition here with Marvellous Value very much one for the short-list and the consistent Spitfire also rates a mention. Simon Callaghan's runner has a little bit to prove on his return from a break but connections have made no secret of the regard in which he is held and have handled him patiently. His maiden win came on heavy ground, he's slipped a little in the weights and has one of the rising stars in the weighing room claiming five. Tawaash has to put a poor run at Goodwood behind him, Janina has questions to answer on just her second start of the campaign and Thebes appears to have lost his way. Marvellous Value has looked smart on two of his last three starts but got bogged down in the soft ground at Haydock in between. A 6lb higher mark may not be enough to stop him, he has won on good to soft so cannot be ruled out on account of the ground and appears to be a horse going places; he's the one to beat. Spitfire and Tawaash finished second and third at the July Meeting in a handicap which also featured Royal Intruder, Thebes, Victorian Bounty and Wise Melody. Spitfire has run another fair race since then but is probably high enough in the weights. This is more competitive than the races Piscean and The Game won on their latest starts whilst Rubirosa and Rash Judgement need to find some improvement from somewhere. Cut in the ground may prove to be the key to Exhibition and he may be able to return to winning ways today.
