Verdict

TWICE OVER was a surprise winner 12 months ago but has leading claims this time around and must go close. There are valid suggestions that he falls short of the very best and that is backed up by defeats at Ascot, York and the Curragh this season but there are doubts as to whether any of the runners in this line-up can get the better of him. Poet's Voice settles better now and may continue to improve over this longer trip, Await The Dawn sprung to prominence with an impressive win at Leopardstown, Gitano Hernando has oozed class on the all-weather but now has to do it on grass, Fuisse appears to possess talent and temperament in equal measure while strong claims are held by Vision D'Etat who looked as good as ever at Deauville and had Twice Over behind when winning at Royal Ascot last year. An intriguing race in which Twice Over is far from unbeatable but he has achieved enough to earn the vote to retain his crown.
