Verdict

Dar Re Mi can call the tune here with Folk Opera, Arthur¿s Girl and Icon Project feared most. The selection shot to the head of the ante-post market for the Oaks following a hugely impressive maiden win in April where her nearest pursuer, Icon Project, was 7 lengths in arrears. She proved no match for Lush Lashes in the Musidora and duly missed Epsom but went very close in an Italian Group 2 last month and can reward her handler¿s patience by winning this contest before being stepped back up in class. It is a strong Listed race and Folk Opera will certainly be more effective here than she was in the Haydock mud when no match for Anna Pavlova. This quicker ground will suit and she¿s capable of making her mark at a higher level but that applies to a few of her opponents too and she has a penalty to carry. Icon Project has improved since chasing home Dar Re Mi on debut at Sandown and is better than the bare form of the Ribblesdale as she enjoyed little luck in running; this track will suit her better than Ascot did and she remains an exciting prospect. Arthur¿s Girl finished in front of her in the Ribblesdale and will be fancied to confirm the form as she didn¿t help her chance in that race by stumbling at the start; good ground is fine for her and she certainly won¿t be inconvenienced by any rain. That quartet are the pick but Luca Cumani¿s chosen representative, Pentatonic, isn¿t dismissed whilst Dancing Abbie and Presbyterian Nun may have enough improvement in them to get into the shake-up. They have a bit to find as things stand and Dar Re Mi rates the winner in our eye.
