Verdict

With the Peter Chapple-Hyam yard seemingly over the worst of its doldrums we will take SAYIF to make the most of a good opportunity here, while there are numerous imponderables in an otherwise open contest. Sayif clearly has the best form on the board here, earning himself a rating of 107 after three very good performances in defeat, with his last two runs both seeing him in the frame in Group 2 company. The drop back in trip to six furlongs here is probably a plus and we'll side with him. The Hague is a very interesting debutant from the John Gosden yard. The Xaar colt is related to juvenile winners and will want further than this next year, but this is a good trip over which to start him. Caerus and Bounty Box both made pleasing debuts and should improve for their experiences this time, and both could have more to offer than Retro. Winged Harriet is a nicely related debutant who should relish the fast ground and this trip to begin with, and she could go well but preference is for Sayif.
