Katimont showed that she handles soft ground when chasing home Badalona on her debut at Haydock last month and a reproduction of that may well suffice so the Barry Hills-trained filly gets the verdict over Mukhber and Irish Mayhem. The last mentioned showed improved form from his debut outing at Sandown and he has to be respected on that evidence but may want a faster surface so looks best watched. Special Reserve is bred to be useful but is also bred to appreciate middle distances next term, while French Art may want a quicker ground to be seen at his best. Ed Dunlop's two-year-olds normally improve with experience so there should be plenty of improvement to come from Sarah's First but a bigger threat may come from John Gosden's Mukhber, who is bred to be useful and handle the ground. There is plenty to like about Katimont though and she is preferred.
