In depth

Verdict

Richard Hannon's two-year-olds are in irresistible form and his Pure Fiction gets a confident voter here. The in-form Under My Thumb is also respected, while Saville Road will be suited by the step up to seven furlongs and has sound claims in this company. He does need to banish the memory of a modest effort from last time out, though. Under My Thumb is chasing a hat-trick and, with his yard in cracking form, he should be able to make his presence felt. However, his 6lb penalty makes life tough for him at this stage and he will do to concede 6lb to the selection. Therefore, we stick with Pure Fiction, who showed marked improvement when winning at Epsom last month. Sure to have benefited from that experience, Pure Fiction does not have too much to find to follow up in this grade and is will take a good one to stop him in his current form.
