Things haven't quite gone as planned for Elusive Flame this year but she was held in high regard as a juvenile and beat Responsive in a decent nursery at Doncaster in September, though Hughie Morrison's recent Sandown third is better off at the weights now. Unex Annigoni got off the mark at Doncaster earlier this month and is the least exposed of these while Periphery has been sent off favourite in two of his four starts, though he was beaten by debutant Dutch Old Master off identical terms at Lingfield last month. SARDANAPALUS missed the break and was never on terms when well backed at Pontefract last time but his earlier second to Fennell Bay over a mile here has worked out well and Kevin Ryan's gelding is worth another chance.
