Mac's Power may be using this Listed contest as a prep race for next month's Ayr Gold Cup and faces a stiff task at the weights against MONSIEUR CHEVALIER. The latter hasn't won since his two-year-old days and only beat one home in the July Cup over C&D last month. But his earlier second behind Society Rock in the Golden Jubilee at Royal Ascot is head and shoulders above anything achieved by his rivals and a return to that form would see him comfortably home in front here. Kempton winner Capone is only a handicapper, while Prime Defender tends to find this company too hot to handle nowadays. Royal Rock is capable of sneaking into a place at generous odds, however, while Swiss Dream is probably the pick of the three-year-olds and was taken off her feet over 5f at Deauville last time.
