Verdict

It's only a year since Wigmore Hall won a Grade 1 over this trip in Canada. Michael Bell's globe-trotting six-year-old has his sights lowered here and it would be no surprise to see him go close despite a very disappointing effort on the Polytrack earlier this month. We prefer GATEWOOD, however, as he'll be all the better for his comeback second at Doncaster when the winner probably got first run on him. John Gosden has been nursing him back to his best since a disappointing year spent in Australia. Chancery has been in cracking form in handicaps but Renew beat him fair and square in a Thirsk maiden earlier in the year and Marco Botti's colt looks the pick of the three-year-olds.
