Verdict

The progressive Thundering Blue has come in for support as he bids for a hat-trick. Both he and Big Country may choose to tag along with the low side of the draw if these split in two as that’s where most of the other fancied horses are. That includes Naval Warfare, who won on the July course here last month, and the three Godolphin representatives. Stablemates Carry On Deryck and Very Talented finished second and third respectively in last year’s renewal and the latter has his first start since but a speculative vote goes to LINGUISTIC. John Gosden’s charge returns to action having been narrowly beaten in a Listed race at Kempton back in April and he won the valuable Tattersalls Millions Trophy over 1m2f here on last season’s reappearance. Ryan Moore has won on El Hayem before and Leader Writer and Chelsea Lad could also go well while Brorocco, Greenside and Qassem make most appeal of those drawn high.
