Verdict

QUICK WIT sets the standard with Youm Jamil open to improvement whilst Uphold looks the part on paper. Quick Wit stepped up on the form of his debut when finishing a clear second behind an impressive winner at Doncaster a week ago and he could be hard to beat if producing a similar performance. The third from Youm Jamil's race at Salisbury let the form down at Yarmouth on Wednesday but that shouldn't detract from the promise shown by the Mizzen Mast colt who held a Racing Post Trophy entry at the time of his debut. Uphold is the first foal of a half-sister to Dewhurst winner Distant Music and by the sire of the moment Oasis Dream so he has plenty to live up to. Man Of Action was a relatively expensive buy and is related to a number of winners in the States but Media Hype and Awsaal are two that may not come into their own until next season. They're all worth monitoring but Quick Wit sets a decent standard.
