Verdict

ANHAR won well enough on debut and may be able to get the better of the more battle-hardened pair Mingun Bell and Private Story. Take It To The Max actually has the highest rating in the field having finished a fairly close up fourth of six behind Emerald Commander in a Listed race at Haydock but the form may flatter him and he may prefer softer ground. The ground was on the soft side when Anhar won his maiden but he may be less ground dependent and there was plenty to like about the way the 950,000 dollar purchase went about his work. He was asked to make up plenty of ground after missing the start but still had enough in hand to repel the challengers in the closing stages. Mingun Bell had been progressing well prior to a disappointing run at Epsom but may not have handled the cambers that day and the yard won this with Twice Over in 2007. Private Story finished second to a horse that was subsequently placed in a Group 3 before running down the field in the Goffs Million at the Curragh; he may well be able to resume his upward curve. Ted Spread could be out of his depth and Natural Law also looks to have something to find as we take Anhar to continue the good run of form currently being enjoyed by Dettori and bin Suroor.
