In depth

Verdict

A really tough handicap in which few can be discounted. Market Rasen winner Westlin' Winds has travelled a long way for this while David Pipe has four entries, the best of which may be Vertige Dore who was disqualified after beating Mad Moose at Worcester earlier this month. He's now 4lb better off with the latter so should have his revenge. Kylenoe Fairy loves this course but Paul Henderson's mare is now on a career-high mark following her second in a Listed handicap at Market Rasen, while King's Forest was well beaten off this mark at Worcester last month. Salontyre could sneak into a place after a recent run on the level but the vote goes to DEREKS, who needed the run when pulled up behind Kylenoe Fairy here in June. He made short work of weaker opposition here next time and could yet find the improvement necessary to land this as he's very lightly raced for his age.
