After four highly respectable runs so far this looks to be a great opportunity for FITZ FLYER to break his maiden and he is taken to do so with Enderby Spirit and Ben's Dream among the dangers. The selection went close to winning in a couple of maidens before running fifth of 19 in the St Leger Yearling Stakes at Newmarket, form which is very good in context. Soft ground probably did not help him last time at Doncaster and back on a sound surface here he can come good. Enderby Spirit was not far away on debut at Thirsk, though perhaps the softer ground explains what was a disappointing second start when a beaten favourite at Catterick. Ben's Dream improved from first run to second and Andrew Balding's gelding should have the speed for this and can show even more now back on a sound surface. Boho Chic finished ahead of Ben's Dream last time out, though not by much, and she too should be happier on this surface so there shouldn't be much to choose between that pair. Perfect Class looks more than capable of upping the ante now tried on good ground for the first time, so he is not discounted.
