Verdict

MERLETTA should be winning this if anywhere near the form she showed when fourth in the Lowther at York. That was a muddling race but the form is head and shoulders against anything achieved by her rivals, though she has been beaten since at Haydock. Qatar Princess stopped as if shot at Kempton after a promising debut at Windsor but Monarch Maid may be on the up after a fair third at Windsor and Amahoro is bred to be a decent two-year-old, though finished last at Pontefract last month. Gauchita is by Invincible Spirit so shouldn't be short of speed and may be best of the newcomers.
