Verdict

Tanforan won this race last year but a repeat looks unlikely off his current weight so instead preference is made for CROCODILE BAY although Vaultage should go well off a new career low mark. The pick is on form at the moment and looked good value for his win over Anthemion last month. That suggested that he should win off this sort of mark so while it is disappointing he hasn't yet done so in two subsequent starts he is given another after a decent run in defeat last time. Vaultage is now 4lbs lower than when putting in his best handicap performance on his debut in these ranks. He was held four lengths in second that day so has a chance of going better in this line-up. Baltimore Jack was beaten a nose off this rating in April so has to be given a chance on that but Crocdile Bay is on form and has the call.
