Bollin Felix is still paying with the handicapper for a series of soft-ground wins, so we will leave it up to the two horses chasing hat-tricks, Make Haste and Strobe, with Strobe coming out on top. Jamie Osbourne's charge forced a dead-heat at Pontefract last time out and showed a good attitude on that occasion. A consistent gelding, this son of Fantastic Light is a real stayer and undoubtedly has more improvement to come. However, he will need to in order to defy a 4lb rise in the weights, and if not up to the task then it may pay to side with Make Haste. Roger Charlton's runner steps up half a mile in trip today but shapes as if he will be suited, and effective on any ground, he won't mind what the weather does. Serpentaria cannot be ruled out now dropped slightly in class, whilst Jawaaneb is a place-potter's dream but continues to find at least one too good. Shine And Rise has a 6lb pull in the weights for his length defeat by the selection so should run a big race now back on turf, whilst Love Brothers and Lord Oroko are two more capable of going well. All in all this looks a tough puzzle to solve, but the best of a promising bunch could be Strobe and he is taken to shine.
