In depth

Verdict

Remote made giant strides in the first half of last season and stayed on strongly to land the Group 3 Tercentary Stakes at Royal Ascot a little under a year ago. But something must have gone amiss thereafter as this will be his first start since. That lack of activity might have opened the door for TWO FOR TWO here. From a stable in terrific form, the six-year-old looked to be on the way back at Ripon last month and has been dropped a couple of pounds since. The Rectifier won at Kempton in February and followed up with a good third at Haydock. He can't be ignored while Fort Bastion was just beaten at York after landing the Thirsk Hunt Cup. Artigiano was a smart two-year-old but has had a break since well beaten at Meydan in February.
