Verdict

An interesting race where FAVOURS BRAVE is put forwards in the hope that he isn't too short a price with a good number of the remainder having claims. David Simcock's string are in form and he's engaged leading jockeys for both of his runners; Sounds Of Jupiter was keen in rear off a slow pace when a short-priced favourite at Pontefract and is capable of better whilst Darley Sun could well improve now handicapping over a longer trip. Ermyn Lodge is weighted to gain revenge on Good Buy Dubai but both have it to prove over an extra quarter of a mile as does Canmoss who didn't appear to get home at Warwick over this trip. Longboat Key may yet prove capable of better now gelded but doesn't look anything out of the ordinary so of more interest is Penang Princess who shapes as though she'll stay this far and is partnered by Moore who is four from thirteen for the yard. The selection's Derby entry looks fanciful despite the promise he showed on debut in a Newmarket maiden that has worked out well. He hasn't really built on that this season but is realistically handicapped and open to improvement over this longer trip so, with the yard continuing in fine form, Favours Brave gets the nod.
