ENLACE looked the likely winner for most of the race in a lucrative Newmarket nursery but idled in front and was caught close home. She can make further progress and gets the vote though Prize Exhibit, who was three and a half lengths back in fourth, is 9lb better off so should get much closer. Ann Duffield unleashed a smart prospect in George Dryden at Pontefract and he could hardly have been more impressive, coming home 6l clear on fast ground. That probably wasn't the greatest of races but with improvement expected he should go close. Al Gomry showed the benefit of a promising York debut to land a maiden at Newcastle where he still looked in need of experience. The remaining pair will need to step up a gear to get involved.
