      Verdict

      THECORNISHBARRON has no easy task carrying a welter burden after making all at Yarmouth a week ago. But the half-length winning distance is misleading as Jack Mitchell could afford to ease him down in the closing stages and he may have enough to hold off the attentions of Shamaheart. The latter went close yet again when second here recently and should have the race run to suit as Venutius also likes to race prominently and made all on a couple of occasions last year. Both Celtic Sixpence and Loading finished second last month but neither looked like catching the winner at Chester and Bath respectively.
