Verdict

A tricky contest with several attempting 1m2f for the first time. That list includes the Stoute yard’s Fidaawy, who won a maiden at Carlisle last time, while Zest and Auspicion both step up from a mile. But BOTH SIDES is proven over the distance and Andrew Balding’s charge looks a safer bet having been placed in a higher grade at Sandown on his latest start. Freewheel and Eurystheus are others with proven stamina but both would prefer some cut in the ground while Belle Travers remains 7lb higher than last month’s win at Pontefract.
