A wide open handicap hurdle this and we take a little chance on the inconsistent ONE BLACK CAT after his last display ahead of Solway Minstrel and Oh Yah Dancer. Granted the selection hasn't always finished his races since joining the handicap ranks but his outing last time, when he only found a really well-handicapped runner three quarters of a length too good, offers plenty of encouragement especially with his useful conditional jockey allowed to use his claim this time meaning his burden remains unaffected. Solway Minstrel steps down in class here and remains weighted competitively after only missing out in a big field at Aintree on his latest showing. Oh Yah Dancer has to deal with a six pound mark rise after a successful outing last time. That run was back in March but he has gone well fresh before and is still unexposed in this sphere so could still improve. Brendan Powell's Job One is interesting with his jockey's seven pound claim returning his mark to that he was just beaten off of last time and Summer Soul is another for the shortlist racing off a competitive rating. Really tight stuff this and One Black Cat might be worth the risk.
