Winners Addison De Witt, Berriedale and Tillietudlem have to be on the short-list but there are a couple of interesting recruits from the level in Ireland and we'll take a chance with ALAZAN. Phillip Hobbs' record with his hurdlers here in recent years isn't awe inspiring but that shouldn't count against the son of Dubai Destination who showed ability in four starts without winning. The market should guide to his chances and to those of Lucinda Russell's Giant's Causeway gelding who was twice successful and rated 18lbs higher than the selection on the Flat. Addison De Witt ran on strongly to land the spoils over course and distance in July but will need to show improved form in order to land what appears to be a stronger race under a penalty. Berriedale jumped well at Sedgefield but the race may not have taken much winning and Tillietudlem's winning effort at Bangor can probably be rated a little higher. Blackstone Vegas may fare better on this better surface and the experience of his debut is unlikely to have been lost on him and he's another to monitor for signs of confidence, as is the selection Alazan.
