Verdict

A point-to-point winner, SERGEANT MATTIE should have no problem with today's longer trip having won on his hurdling debut over 2m1f at Carlisle. Charlie Deutsch's allowance negates a penalty and he can follow-up at the main expense of Major Milborne. The latter will be winning one of these events soon judged on his recent placed efforts and he's preferred to Steepleofcopper, who looked like claiming third place at Fakenham last time but fell at the last. Bow Quest was beaten a distance when placed over 2m here and Cove was tailed off when third over track and trip last time.
