In depth

Verdict

WEDGER PARDY won this in 2008 and 2009 but was beaten by Zest For Life when attempting a hat-trick a year ago. He was conceding 10lb to the winner on that occasion and only went down narrowly so can take his revenge, especially as he was returning from a year's break last time and a recent run will have put him straight. Outlaw Pete, a stablemate of Zest For Life, finished fourth a year ago having had every chance and though in better form than either of those rivals is unlikely to reverse the form. Let The Show Begin won an Open at Oldcastle last week but has never tackled these cross country obstacles, a remark that also applies to recent point-to-point winners Butlers Storm and Jills Oscar.
