    Verdict

Bryan Smart's Esuvia was not beaten far behind Kellys Eye over this trip at Ripon recently and has solid claims racing off the same mark today but she looks booked for a place at best behind David Barron's PHILOSOPHERS STONE, who gets the verdict ahead of Pepper Lane. David O'Meara's filly won well over course and distance last month, was not disgraced when a close up third behind Thrust Control at Ayr subsequently off the same mark that she races off today and she should go close. Coin From Heaven needs to improve on recent form but does represent the in-form Richard Fahey stable so cannot be ruled out, while similar comments apply to the Michael Dods-trained Durham Express. Howard Johnson's Makbullet has claims but is strictly held by Esuvia on running at Ripon and preference is for David Barron's Philosophers Stone. The gelding won his maiden well at Catterick before finding just Ignatieff too good at Redcar last time and he has an obvious chance racing off the same mark today.
