In depth

Verdict

Just Bond, runner-up behind Goodbye Mr Bond at York on Friday can go one place better as he takes a drop in class here. Settled off a brisk pace at York, Just Bond eased his way into contention and although such a pace is not likely here, the six year old remains well handicapped based on his old form off 71 and can score here. Gee Ceffyl Bach is up 4lb for a recent Newcastle victory where she raced from well out of the handicap. Although she is consistent one feels she may just find a couple too good here. Aussie Blue is an interesting contender. He travelled well last time but faded inside the closing stages and it could well be that the mile stretches him. King Fingal is certainly worth a check in the market on his handicap debut but Just Bond is our pick.
