Verdict

The experience of Bachelor Knight pay prove to be decisive here but we will take a chance on PUDDLE DUCK to get it right first time, while Saltergate is another to run the rule over. The selection is related to a triple 5-6f winner as a juvenile and comes from a yard that is going very well at present. Fast ground should suit and he is the one we will chance in the opener. Bachelor Knight led for some way at Ripon on debut before giving best to two of his opponents, but that was clearly a very respectable effort and he looks the big danger with that run under his belt. Saltergate was doing all of his best work at the finish at Beverley a couple of weeks ago and should come on for that run. He too is feared, and a win would be no shock. Ever Roses is another runner that fits the same sort of profile, making this tricky for punters, but we'll take a chance on Puddle Duck.
