In depth

Verdict

Deserted Dane gets the vote to win again ahead of El Bosque and Heywood. Alan Swinbank's colt sprang a bit of a surprise when winning cosily at Carlisle last month. Sent off at 20/1 on that occasion, such generous odds will not be around today but with the extra furlong unlikely to pose a problem, he can win again. El Bosque has been keeping slightly better company than this and should go very sloe assuming he handles the round (ran poorly on only start on soft). Heywood needs to bounce back from a tame effort in Listed company at Epsom, but now dropped in grade and trip he must have claims if handling ground that he is yet to race on. Tudor Prince has ability but doesn't always seem to put it all in, although this ground suits and it would be folly to rule him out. At a price Dickie Le Davoir could go well for an in-form stable, however Deserted Dane has further improvement to come and gets the nomination.
