Verdict

Unless Tim Easterby's newcomer Algorithm proves to be out of the ordinary, this should really be little more than a match between Beckermet and Pike Bishop, with preference for the last mentioned. The selection made an impressive start to his career when landing a novice event at Windsor last month, beating subsequent winner Empire's Ghodha by a length and three-quarters. Roger Fisher's Beckermet has done little wrong so far and comes here having won his last two starts but may struggle to give 4lbs to Roger Charlton's colt. With Alan Berry's horses finally beginning to run into some form, Nee Lemon Left may prove to be the best of the remainder but, in a race where very few have claims, Pike Bishop gets the vote.
