Verdict

Early Bird ran well for most of her first campaign and deserved her comfortable maiden victory at Catterick. Her stable companion FLOWING CLARETS made a successful debut over 6f on soft ground at Leicester and things didn't go right for her when tackling a Wolverhampton nursery next time so compensation awaits. Gwendolyn had been showing good pace over 6f before gaining an impressive victory over this trip in a Wolverhampton maiden. Sir Dudley has already run 15 times and won twice. He's generally very consistent though up 5lb for his Lingfield victory at the beginning of the month. Dual winner New Road Side's form tailed off as the season progressed and she may be best caught fresh but Furiant has been very disappointing in his two latest starts.
