Verdict

Recent course and distance winner Triple Eight ran well off a higher mark at Beverley next time but has gone up a further 3lb since. We'd rather take a chance on the lightly-raced SPIRIT OF RIO, who had the proverbial ton in hand when landing a maiden here three weeks ago and has scope for further improvement. Hydrant has had a good season, as has Dolphin Rock, and both have each-way claims while Eeny Mac arrives in better form than St Moritz and Maven. San Cassiano was behind Triple Eight here last time but Full Toss is better than he showed at Ayr last time and preferred to the largely disappointing Barren Brook.
