Verdict

Alton Bay was only beaten a neck on debut at Killarney in July but hasn't really improved on that in two subsequent starts, though has been placed in both. Well Tuned has made the frame here and at Tramore this summer but never really looked like winning on wither occasion and is likely to find at least one too good again. BONOBO has raced since October last year but his fourth at Fairyhouse on that occasions suggests he's not without ability and Kevin Prendergast should have him ready for this. He gets a tentative vote with Maguires Oscar, closely related to three winning jumpers including the useful Massini's Maguire and Twirling Magnet, easily the most interesting of the newcomers.
