Pat Smullen rode a brilliant race from the front on Misty Lane at Gowran and though Reggie Roberts' mare is 7lb higher she is just as effective over this shorter trip and is likely to take some catching. Ashtaroth made a successful debut in a Gowran maiden and is certain to improve, though the form of that race hasn't worked out too well. If the rain arrives and eases the ground then Vasoni would have to be a major threat as she's just 2lb higher than her last victory at Sligo in August. CAPRELLA has never won on Turf but she's generally competed at a higher level than this and her close fourth behind Have A Nice Day at the Curragh was an indicator that she's now ready to gain that elusive first victory. Queen Of Alba won over 1m2f at Sligo last month so this looks on the short side.
