Verdict

Elusive Express won in a finish of short heads with two stable companions at Bellewstown last week to gain a second success in 25 starts. Another good run is anticipated but a 5lb penalty may scupper follow-up claims. Roja Dove is the other last-time-out victor having also prevailed in a photo-finish at Gowran Park in an apprentice handicap - the same jockey takes the ride here. She escapes a penalty for that success and is respected along with top weight Maundy Monday. The latter continues to run his race despite being a stable veteran now but the choice is SMOKE CHARGER. Second in three of the last four starts, trip and ground will suit very well here and he looks fairly treated off an unchanged mark.
