      Verdict

The fact that Sentry is sent out so quickly after failing to justify favouritism at Hamilton on Monday gives the impression that his yard are keen to have another crack with him and, as such, the John Gosden-trained gelding is expected to cope with the demands of top weight today. Man The Gate and Stoop To Conquer have been hard to win with to date so are passed over in the search for a viable alternative. Which brings in The Last Cast as one whose proven stamina could come into play if this develops into a battle on the ground. However, Sentry has done little wrong in either of his two starts this terms and he can put the record straight with a clear passage today.
