CARTHAGE sets the standard on form and has the added tick in the box that he's acted well on soft on his last three starts. He may be the sort who continually finds one or two too good but it was a solid enough handicap effort on his Doncaster reappearance behind Black Schnapps and the drop back into ordinary maiden company may just do the trick. Expect an improved effort from Wrangler as the High Chaparral colt looked in need of the run at HQ having looked promising on his sole juvenile start on the soft at Yarmouth. Libeccio needs to improve on this year's all-weather efforts but Min Alemarat is likely to have come on plenty for a satisfactory Newmarket debut and The Corsican is an interesting newcomer to be noted in the market.
