In depth

Verdict

Cake proved tasty for backers on debut and is expected to win again today, although Baytown Blaze and Presto Lavanter will ensure that this is no walk in the park. Having been backed into favouritism on his debut, Cake made all and won with something in hand. He knew his job that day and with connections viewing him as an ideal candidate for the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury in July, he looks sure to run another big race today. Stablemate Presto Levanter is the most interesting of the newcomers (beign the first foal of stable's smart 2002 winner of this race) and the market will point to his chances. Flying Indian didn't show much on debut and is entitled to improve on that, whilst Baytown Blaze was a very cheap purchase but won a weak Southwell maiden well and is one to bear in mind. Tamara Moon will probably need further in time, and so we return to Cake as the best option.
